The Oregon Quarter Horse youth participate in a variety of fun activities throughout the year including: youth meetings, horse shows, community service, fundraising and social events. There are wonderful awards given annually at our year end banquet held each year in January.
A State team participates each year at the American Quarter Horse Youth Association World Championship Show held in Oklahoma City, OK. Youth from our state compete in a variety of horse show classes as well as in team spirit, stall decorating, horse judging, team demonstrations, public speaking, scrapbook, horse bowl, talent show, boot and jean decorating contests.
The OQHYA has a scholarship program awarding a scholarship to a graduating senior who will be attending college. This year's receipient was Shayna Kirby of Longview, WA.
